Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We are known for one of the best PGA Championship Golf Courses in Texas we were named Best Overall Private Club in Avid Golfer Magazine in 2022. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary. We are looking for servers to work at the pool restaurant (Terrace), snack bar and outside pool area. No experience necessary. This is a seasonal position that will be from end of May - September 2nd. General Purpose: Provides quality service to members and guests. Taking and processing orders to be delivered to the tables around the pool, assist with preparing food items, and beverages as ordered at the snack window and ensuring cleanliness of the Food & Beverage areas around the pool at all times. Essential Duties: Ensures guests are attended to in a prompt, efficient and personalized manner. Ensures items are rung into Northstar under the correct member number Ensures special requests on food is communicated to the kitchen Prepares and serves food and beverage items. Ensures opening and closing checklists are completed daily. Verifies ID for the sale of alcoholic drinks if over age of 18. If under the age of 18 you will need to communicate to the on duty bartender to take drink orders for tables. Assists with Snack Shop window and members when needed Maintains organized and clean work area. Make sure snacks, ice cream and candies are stocked daily Controls inventory through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products. Other duties may include assisting with pool activities and games. Maintains flexibility to take on new and different task as directed by the Department Manager. Education / Experience: Must be at least 16, attending High School or have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: May be required: to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, members, and other associates of the organization. Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to feel or handle; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus. Environment/ Noise: Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate. Certificates/Licenses: Food Handler Training and Alcohol Awareness Training is required. Job Description The Busser is responsible for assisting the Servers in all duties. The Busser is responsible for maintaining the entire restaurant, including the dining room, storerooms, food pick-up area, and beverage station according to established cleanliness and stock standards. The Busser maintains all assigned uniform guidelines and works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service always.
