$500 Sign On Bonus / Full Time and Weekends a Must TASKS AND JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING: Responding to, in a courteous manner, any and all guest questions, complaints, and requests. Perform general maintenance, including routine repairs, replacing bathroom tiles and light bulbs, painting, repairing walls, minor carpentry, etc. Regularly check air (HVAC), heating, ventilation, appliances, plumbing, etc. and notify General Manager when repairs are needed. Assist with landscaping. Drive the shuttle as needed. Utilize basic hand and power tools required for general maintenance. Complete checklists and other maintenance records in accordance with company policy and government regulations. Maintain tools, workspaces, and equipment. Complies with all Best Western and LaCava Companies procedures, rules, and regulations. Perform other services, duties, and special projects as requested by the General Manager. Supervise a small staff, able to delegate responsibilities. PREREQUISITES: Competencies and Other Requirements: Ability to communicate, listen, take orders, and multi-task. Must be able to work independently with minimum amount of direct supervision. Ability to drive a shuttle van, including having a valid drivers license. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include long hours, call-ins in the event of an emergency or snowstorm, etc. Night and weekend availability is required and mandatory. Education: High School or Vocation School. Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the primary language of the workplace. Experience: Previous hotel, trade show, commercial building or building maintenance experience. General knowledge of light maintenance is required. Physical: Requires lifting up to 60 pounds on a regular and continuing basis, manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, climbing ladders, walking, repetitive motions, visual acuity, listening ability, and good speaking skills. You will be performing interior and exterior painting and decorating as assigned. All surfaces will need to be prepared for painting by using any of the following methods: paint removers, scrapers, wire brushes, sanders, blow torches, sandblasting, etc. Any holes, crevices, and cracks must be filled. Joints must be sealed with putty, caulking, and other filler. You will be responsible for preparing and mixing any paints or finishes as required. Paints, lacquers, stains, varnishes, and finishes will be applied using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and applicators. Must be comfortable with heights and the use of ladders, scaffolding, etc. May be asked to install wall coverings such as wallpapers or fabrics. All work areas must be cleaned upon the completion of a task and at the end of each working day.
