Member Duties : Members are placed in resource-limited organizations and provide health/public health education and access services. NHC objectives are: 1) decrease barriers for people who are Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and other identities who have been historically underrepresented in health leadership (women, LGBQITA+, people with disabilities, etc.) to become health/public health leaders in the future; 2) decrease health disparities through addressing social determinants of health, including underlying structural oppression in communities plagued by histories of racial and economic inequities; and 3) improve organizational efficiencies, community engagement and reach of services addressing social determinants of health. Unique position descriptions outline host site service duties for members. Professional development includes supervision, training, group and outside service, member committees, volunteer engagement, and a retreat.
