Food Service Director - K-12 Schools
Career Transitions, LLC Aberdeen, South Dakota
Contract Food Service company managing 60 K-12 School Food Service Programs across 5 states. This position oversees 9 schools (1 HS, 2 Middle and 6 Elementary) with an enrollment of 4,500 students. Manage a staff of 50. Responsibilities: Responsible for food service and catering for a fast-paced school district. Maintain systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of food related products, as well as menu planning and development. Motivates, trains, and supervises hourly employees and supervisors. Develops operational component forecasts and is able to explain variances. Responsible for component accounting functions. Ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met. Coordinates and supervises unit personnel regarding production, marketing, quality and cost control, labor management and employee training. Recruits, hires, develops, and retains front line team. Qualifications AS degree in a relevant program. 3+ years of relevant school nutrition program experience or hospitality related industry experience. Multi-unit experience a plus. Experience in developing talent with a focus on operations, food quality, food safety, sanitation, and customer service. Food, labor cost and P&L accountability experience. Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM. Salary $60-65K + 10% Annual Bonus, Company Healthcare options, 401(k) plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
