Job Description

The Marketing Consultant is responsible for selling future Independent Living apartment home residences. Remains knowledgeable of our Life Plan Community model and be able to discuss accurately and compassionately with potential residents and family members. Maintains a positive image of the community with referral sources, residents, family members, vendors, and employees.

Travel and work schedule flexibility: This position requires up to 25% local travel to/from marketing events. Nominal overnight travel may be required annually for training. Must be able to have a flexible schedule and be willing to work weekends, as required.


  • Cultivate relationships and build rapport with potential residents and family members
  • Response and follows-up with all walk-ins, phone-ins, mail-ins timely and appropriately
  • Close sales to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual goals
  • Initiate, develop, and manage relationships with sales referral sources in order to increase referrals
  • Generate and sustain quality and quantity of leads
  • Know and stay up-to-date on the offerings of other retirement communities in the area including but not limited to services as well as charges
  • Attend internal and external marketing events
  • Build excitement for the future community
  • Maintain detail records and utilize the Customer Relationship Management database
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field – or equivalent years of experience in sales
  • Sales experience within a continuing care retirement community
  • One to three years of proven successful sales experience
  • Experience utilizing a lead management system/customer relationship management database
  • English language proficiency
  • Ability to work independently with self-discipline and self-motivation
