POSITION: Banquet Captain DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage REPORTS TO: Sous Chef FLSA STATUS: Part-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt Summary ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Banquet Captain for ASM/Jacksonville. Responsible for providing high quality catering service for banquets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Directly responsible for supervising all catered events. This includes setup, execution, and tear down of all events. Drive all components of event set-up ensuring staff follow instruction and complete tasks in allotted timeframes. Supervise and train all banquet and bar staff on guest service standards and professionalism. Conduct inspection of staff at start of shift to verify all staff uniforms are clean and appearances meet standards. Prepare and distribute staff assignments with timelines for event day tasks including side work and break-down. Maintain all timeframes and adjust for changes during events for proper staff placement and steps of service. Establish and maintain positive client relationships and interdepartmental relationships. Submit requests for any auxiliary needs handled by administrative or operational/facility departments. Upkeep smallwares equipment: instruct for proper usage, keep storage clean and organized, document damages/losses, and track any equipment transfers between facilities.
