The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies. Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery. Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food. Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate.
