Guest Services must be knowledgeable of hotel accommodations and services as well as the surrounding area attractions, act as main contact for guest inquiries and will maintain a good working relationship with other hotel departments to make sure all guest needs are met. The Night Auditor works the overnight welcome desk shift, and performs closing day functions while preparing the front office for the upcoming new day. Essential Functions: Completes the "night audit" efficiently and accurately. Accurately logs all wake-up call requests. Greet callers in a courteous and friendly manner. Records all information accurately and completely for reservations. Has a thorough understanding of rates. Confirms guest reservations. Performs all guests accounting functions according to hotel standards when posting transactions and balancing an audit. Registers guests accurately and efficiently. In addition, establishes proper credit, according to hotel policy. Processes check outs, listening and responding to guest positive and negative comments. Accurately takes guest and office messages. Record guest requests and problems. Reports work orders to maintenance. Follows all emergency procedures as trained. Posts room charges to guest accounts. Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers. Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities. Summarizes results of operations for management. Understands principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts. Skilled in operating computers and other front office equipment. Qualifications: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills and abilities. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: Prior front desk experience, audit experience. OPERA. General math knowledge. Must be able to operate computer and other office equipment. Must be reliable, dependable, and honest. Good communication skills, both verbal and written with guests and employees. Physical Requirements: Requires standing for long periods of time while helping guests. Requires sitting if permitted, then standing for long periods of time. Requires walking back and forth while helping guests. Requires bending down and picking up supplies. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
