Your Role at Raising Cane s: The Restaurant Leader is responsible for strategic direction for their restaurant and must maintain operations standards and drive results through people development, sales and profit growth. This role is tasked with teaching, modeling and upholding Raising Cane s culture standards for all crewmembers, customers and partners. The physical work environment includes working in a fast-paced kitchen and interacting with and serving customers. This requires extended periods of physical exertion such as walking, standing and lifting. It also includes working both inside and outside in varied temperatures, with and around food products and common allergens, industrial equipment, commercial cleaning products, and requires use of personal protective equipment and ergonomic activities necessary to complete the job function. Lead Line Cook - Housing available. The Hunter Tavern at Hunter Lodge, A Bluebird by Lark Hotels is seeking an experienced Lead Cook. We have a straightforward menu, a beautiful, newly designed restaurant space, a back deck, and a backyard. Our Lead Cook will be responsible for the quality, speed, and consistency of the food coming out of the kitchen. While the current menu is small, we hope to increase our offerings based on the capabilities of this new leader we are hiring. We aim to be a great option for our town, visitors, and guests of the hotel. Compensation: $23 - $26 hourly Responsibilities: Recognize and adhere to quality requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, as well as correct storage and waste management Assemble a system of food stations and fill them with everything they need for the shift Grill, broil or saute menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specifications Keep all workstations, counters, cooking equipment, and refrigerators clean and sanitary according to health and safety rules Ensure that all interactions with visitors, vendors and colleagues are conducted in a professional and friendly manner Ensure that all mise en place is prepared for respective stations as well as proper forecasting of prep needs for assigned stations Prepare food products and execute dishes meeting the standards of the Hotel Management, ensuring that food production is coordinated with meal hours so that the quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives Perform duties to include setup and breakdown of the station, and cleanliness of the work area including all surfaces, equipment, floor, and dish room functions as necessary Qualifications: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers Must be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic Must be eligible to work in the United States of America Previous experience as a line cook in a similar property, culinary school, or completion of apprenticeship program preferred, or proven experience in higher volume and/or fine dining kitchens Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy Ability to understand verbal directions, as well as written menus, recipes, labels on foods and chemicals, and other workplace safety signage Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods About Company A seventies-inspired ski lodge with year-round appeal, The Hunter takes cues from classic American materials like textured wood and stone, infused with cozy, rustic decor, large windows, and plenty of spots to gather around the fireâ€"and a downstairs game room designed for making memories you'll come back to recreate over and over again.
